Each workspace is billed on its own plan, so a department running one exam a term is not paying for the faculty next door. An account can hold up to 20 workspaces at no extra charge.

How billing works
The questions institutions ask before they commit.
- One plan per workspace
- A workspace is an institution or a department: its own subdomain, its own members, its own exams. Billing follows that boundary, so each one is upgraded, downgraded, or cancelled on its own.
- Twenty workspaces per account
- Creating a workspace is free. You only pay for what a workspace does, and only for as long as it does it.
- Downgrading keeps your work
- Nothing already created is deleted when a plan changes — only what you may add next is affected, until you are back within the allowance.
- Payment is handled by Polar
- Card details are never sent to Scholasticus. Invoices, receipts, and cancellation live in Polar's customer portal, reachable from every workspace's billing page.
